Extremist opinions amongst Jews

There are a lot of non-Muslim owned websites and blogs on the net whose sole purpose seems to be to find controversial quotes by Muslims and “expose” extremist opinions within the Muslim community in order to show what supposedly lies beneath the surface and what we Muslims “are really like”.

These guys like to read posts on Muslim forums hoping to find extreme opinions which they can then expose on their blog. A lot of the times these guys are Zionists. Well, two can play at this game so I thought I’d see what I could find on a popular Jewish website after a just a very quick search. I don’t have a lot of insight into popular Jewish forums and websites so I just typed “Jewish forum” on Google and chose the first English PHP-forum that came up called “Chabad Talk” (I have seen this website before as well).

The first thing I searched for was “highest people” (since I wanted to see what these guys had to say on the difference between Jews and non-Jews) and a thread called “Jewish pride” came up. The thread-starter was concerned about that some Jews have a sense of pride since they, as he said, believe that the world was created for them. Here are what some people wrote back:

Its true we all have our part, but we are better, higher, more essential etc’

Obviously no human blood shoud be spilled unnecessarily. I mean to say that if it’s a choice between innocent Jews being murdered or enemy civilians, we must have mercy on our own first and not on the enemy at the expense of our own. Rather a million (that’s just an expression, of course; it’s not meant to limit it to that number) of theirs than harming a hair on the head of one of ours.

Yes we are “higher” than the Goyim but because that\s the way Hashem chose us to be!!!

You can talk about roles from today till tomorrow, and it’s great if you davka want to be politically correct, but remember that according to Torah and especially Chasidus, not just Yidden are higher than goyim, but they’re higher be’ein aroch legamri.

JH, I find it absurd that you ask me “where does it say that Jews are higher than non-Jews?” As if this is some sort of chiddush for you. Where does it NOT say so, when discussing Jews vs. non-Jews? How about the fact that non-Jews are a means to an end (chitzoniyus ho’rotzon) and Jews are the end in themselves (pnimiyus ho’rotzon)? How about the fact that non-Jews possess no nefesh Elokis and Jews do? How about the fact that non-Jews depend upon Jewish guidance, without wish they cannot possibly act morally? Etc., etc.

furthermore, I also believe it is explained (i’d appreciate if someone can post the source); that Jews “body’s” are similar to the “gentiles” and that is (one of the reasons) why Go-d commanded Jews to have circumcision, so that even in their body’s they are seperated from the gentiles. and another thing Jews are endowed with over gentiles is that they have a “Go-dly soul” (Tanya, written torah of chassidus authered by the founder of chabad chassidism; chap. 2)(p.s. I wrote the above assuming you are a non jew and do not understand certain terms.)

I don’t know what all of these Hebrew/Yiddish (?) phrases mean, but the point is pretty clear about what they feel about us who aren’t born by Jewish mothers. I provided the link to the thread you can read it for yourself.

There is another thread called “We are the Chosen People” where the thread-starter is trying to get advice on how to handle this sensitive subject. Here are som quotes from that thread:

And yes, Jews are greater, as mentioned in the first post.

the Jewish nation are G-d’s beloved

There is something about the Jews, that give them a deeper understanding

Every gentile that has come to grips with reality will tell you that the Jew is superior

Yes, but “atem k’ruyin adam, v’ayn ovdei kochavim k’ruyin adam”

(You [Yisroel] are called ‘man’ while the other nations are not called ‘man’.)

Here, one of the Jewish posters explains that this Jewish concept is racist, but still defends it:

the idea of Atro bichartonu mikol hoamim is racist to some degree. but you dont have to worry that much of being like the KKK and others etc. we beleived in this idea for 3300 years already and to my knowledge there has not been one case in all these thousands of years of a jew killing or even harming even one gentile because of this feeling of superiority.

You see, even after a quick search on a popular Jewish forum you will find these kind of controversial (in this case racist) ideas being spread around. Now, obviously these views aren’t representative of all Jews and this forum isn’t representative of mainstream Judaism (even though it seems to be popular from the Google search results) since it is a Chabad forum (some in this Jewish group consider their former, now dead, leader to be the Messiah and a few consider him to be God wa liyadhubillah). But on the other hand, the same can be said about the extremist views of some Muslims which are “exposed” on various websites. The purpose of this blog entry was to show that you can dig out controverisal quotes in a lot of places, not only Muslim forums.

I’d also like to point out that we as Muslims of course know that the Bani Israil were once favoured by God, but this was of course conditional. Read this insha’Allah: Question: The claim that the Jews are God’s chosen people
